Afghanistan
Every child deserves an education
It all started with a bag of clothes...
ACPW began as the Afghan Child Project, serving children and women in terrorist-ridden, war-torn Afghanistan with a simple mission: make friends; not enemies. Our outreach consisted of many development projects, some directly supported by the United States Military. We installed solar electric systems at remote medical clinics, established over a dozen English and literacy classes. We also provided life-saving medicines to dozens children with cancer, established several children's libraries, and distributed 12 tons of donated medical supplies and over 15,000 toys to children in hospitals.
Today...
Since the US pullout from Afghanistan, it has become an even more challenging place for US-based charitable organizations to operate. Nonetheless, ACPW has not turned it's back on our roots and most of all,
some of the most downtrodden children and women in the world. We currently operate an "underground" children's literacy class. In addition, each spring we plant trees at urban schools and in parks to bring beauty and peace the environment. We want to thank the courageous volunteers who risk their life to bring education and hope to the students. We would also like to thank the donors who make this possible. If you would like to support the volunteers in Afghanistan, please contact acp@acpworldwide.org.
